He holds a California medical license and certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and nephrology. His extensive experience includes private practice, hospital consultations, and dialysis management with a focus on kidney disease, hypertension, hemodialysis, and kidney transplantation. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a medical expert witness in legal cases and actively participates in clinical research while adhering to regulatory standards.
Dr. Kabbany earned his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University College of Medicine where he was actively involved in clinical education. He previously completed a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and cell biology at the University of California, San Diego, earning academic honors and a minor in healthcare and social issues. His postgraduate training includes an internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, followed by a nephrology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Rajeev Kaul is a board-certified nephrologist with more than 15 years of leadership experience dedicated to improving the quality, efficiency, and humanity of kidney care. Throughout his career, he has combined clinical excellence with a strong commitment to process improvement, patient-centered innovation, and collaborative problem-solving.
Dr. Kaul earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., B.S.) from Indira Gandhi Medical College in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, followed by a nephrology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is board-certified in nephrology through the American Board of Internal Medicine, with certification valid through 2027. His training and early academic roles—including serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor—provided a strong foundation in patient care, clinical research, and the management of complex renal and systemic conditions.
Dr. Kaul’s expertise spans nephrology, internal medicine, dialysis leadership, and healthcare systems improvement. He has extensive experience diagnosing and managing chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, hypertension, and post-transplant renal issues, as well as providing oversight for dialysis safety and quality. His leadership roles have strengthened physician engagement, improved clinical workflows, and contributed to ACO and Next Gen ACO initiatives that successfully reduced healthcare spending. Dr. Kaul has collaborated on statewide programs to optimize emergency care for dialysis patients and improve COVID-19 response for vulnerable populations. His research background includes participation in landmark clinical trials such as SELECT, ALLHAT, ONTARGET, and TRANSCEND, along with published implementation research in the BMJ. He has presented at national conferences and continues to integrate evidence-based practice into patient care.
Kimberly Cowley is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse First Assist with extensive experience across nephrology, emergency care, aesthetics, and critical care medicine. She provides advanced, patient-centered management of chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, and hypertension, working collaboratively with nephrologists across inpatient, outpatient, LTAC, subacute, and skilled nursing settings. Her background includes over a decade of clinical nursing and procedural experience, ranging from trauma and emergency medicine to advanced aesthetic procedures. Kimberly is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, compassionate communication, and coordinated multidisciplinary care. She also contributes to care continuity by supporting self-management coaching, improving access to nephrology services, and expanding clinical capacity in underserved settings.
